Pelican Pose Perfected
I love photographing the brown pelicans along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This photo was made early in December, 2019 at the Ocean Springs Marina. It took awhile, but I was able to slowly creep up on him. Apparently, the trick is to not point your camera directly at him, or they get spooked and fly off. I acted like I was photographing things in my peripheral view, and took a few steps closer each time I felt like I had gained his trust a bit more. I thought the feathers blowing in the wind added to the overall artistic look of the image. Hope you enjoy this fellow as much as I did capturing the photograph!
